Umi Ito defeated Audrey Jimenez of the United States in the women's under-50 kilogram category for gold while her team-mate Moe Kiyooka won the under-55kg gold.

Ruka Natami and Sakura Motoki took victories in the under-57kg and under-59kg finals over American Sofia Macaluso and Hungary's Viktoria Borsos.

World bronze medallist and Asian champion at senior level Nonoka Ozaki expectedly delivered in the under-62kg final against Sonam Malik, while Mahiro Yoshitake made it another victory over India in the under-65kg against Priyanka.

Ami Ishii took under-68kg gold against Kyrgyzstan's Nurzat Nurtaeva and Ayano Moro completed the gold rush in the under-73kg final against Indian Priya Malik.

Japan's other gold medal came in the men's under-61kg final thanks to Yuto Nishiuchi, who defeated Armin Habibzadeh of Iran.

Iran generally had a strong showing in the men's freestyle events as well as in Greco-Roman, finishing top of their respective medals tables.

Sobhan Yari won the men's under-79kg gold against Armenia's Mushegh Mkrtchyan, while Iran's other men's titles came in the under-92kg and under-125kg finals for Amir Hossein Firouzpour and Amir Reza Masoumi against Andro Margishvili of Georgia and Mahendra Gaikwad of India respectively.

Four more golds were added in Greco-Roman, including back-to-back victories for Saeid Esmaeili and Iman Mohammadi in the under-60kg and under-63kg.

They defeated Armenia's Suren Aghajanyan and Baiaman Karimov of Kyrgyzstan.

Alireza Mohmadi won the under-82kg final against Achiko Bolkvadze of Georgia and Ali Abedi stood atop the podium too in the under-97kg competition, beating Iussuf Matsiyev of Kazakhstan in the final.

Azerbaijan and the US were third and fourth on the medals table with five and three golds respectively.
