Japan capped off a dominant showing at the World Junior Judo Championships in Ecuador with victory in the team competition.

The country won six gold medals in individual events before beating Turkey 4-0 in the team final in Guayaquil.

A men's under-73-kilograms bout was first up between Ryugu Tanaka and Muhammed Demirel.

The Japanese judoka went straight on the offensive and within 16 seconds he scored the first point with a waza-ari before claiming a decisive second with a standing seoi-nage.

Moka Kuwagata then doubled the lead against Fidan Ogel with a koshi-waza ippon after just 14 second in the women's under-70kg class.

Kaito Amano faced a tougher challenge against men's under-90kg opponent Cem Demirtas but eventually secured the ippon victory just before the four minutes of regulation time were over.

Mao Arai then delivered the final point in a rematch of the women's over-78kg final against Hilal Ozturk.

Prior to the finale, Germany met Brazil in the first bronze-medal match and dispatched them 4-0 courtesy of wins from Jano Ruebo, Samira Bock, Tom Droste and Anna Monta Olek.

France then claimed the second bronze medal in a close tie with Georgia that ended 4-3.

Wins from Giorgi Terashvili and Nino Gulbani gave the Georgians a quick 2-0 lead before Aleka Mitrovic pulled one back for France.

The women's over-70kg class was then drawn for the next bout but Georgia could not provide an athlete so were forced to concede and lost two points as a result.

Irakli Demetrashvili and made it 3-3 before Martha Fawaz's victory against Nino Loladze gave France a dramatic victory.
