A further three champions were crowned on the penultimate day of individual competition at the World Junior Judo Championships in Guayaquil, Ecuador.

Spaniard Ai Tsunoda Roustant continued her remarkable form to clinch gold in the women's under-70-kilograms category.

The double world champion in her age group triumphed against Turkey's Fidan Ogel in the final after Germany's Samira Bock and Idelannis Gomez Feria secured bronze medals.

Tsunoda Roustant was coming off a gold medal-winning campaign at the Mediterranean Games in Algeria and has already won three titles on the World Judo Tour.

In the final in Ecuador, the 20-year-old scored a quick waza-ari before taking Ogel to the floor for an ippon victory.

Moldovan Mihail Latisev triumphed in the first men's final of the day as he got the better of Frenchman Arnaud Aregba in the under-81kg.

Latisev's path to victory was made simpler after Italian top seed Bright Maddaloni Nosa was eliminated in the preliminary rounds.

In the final, he conceded an early point as Aregba was in the ascendency but a clinical o-uchi-gari flipped his opponent onto his back to seal the win via ippon.

Azerbaijan's Eljan Hajiyev and Adam Kopecky of Czech Republic prevailed in the repechage rounds to secure bronze medals.

Uzbekistan's Jakhongir Mamatrakhimov defeated pre-tournament favourite Peter Safrany of Hungary in the men's under-90kg.

The Asian junior champion dispatched his opponent in no time with a huge koshi-waza, throwing him over his back, for an ippon.

Romanian Alex Cret and France's Aleksa Mitrovic completed the podium with the bronze medals.

The individual competitions are due to come to an end tomorrow with the women's under-78kg and over-78kg in addition to the men's under-100kg and over-100kg tournaments.

Mixed team tournaments are then scheduled to take place on Sunday (August 14).
