Hosts South Korea lead the way after two days of the World Taekwondo Poomsae Championships in Goyang, building on yesterday's women's recognised team over-30 victory with a further 10 gold medals.

Their triumphs on the second day included golds in each of the first three freestyle events at the International Exhibition Centre.

Cha Ye-eun prevailed in the women's individual over-17 event, beating the United States' Adalis Munoz in the final.

Phan Khanh Han Nguyen of Vietnam and Denmark's Eva Sandersen earned the bronze medals.

South Korea also came out on top in the mixed team over-17 event, with Chinese Taipei taking silver, and the bronze medals going to Mexico and the US.

The host nation also claimed gold in the under-17 pair, with silver going to the US and Mexico and Canada rounding off the podium.

South Korea impressed in the recognised discipline, earning seven golds from a possible 13.

Han Song-yeon won the women's cadet event, a feat matched by Lee Joo-yeong in the junior age bracket.

The women's under-40 title went to another South Korean in Kang Yu-jin.

Recognised men's competitions began today, with Kang Wan-jin in the under-30 category taking another gold for South Korea.

The South Korean women's junior team, women's under-30 team and men's over-30 team were the other winners for the host nation.

Chinese Taipei are second on the leaderboard with three golds, achieved in the recognised cadet pair, junior pair and men's under-30 team events.

Vanesa Ortega Villodres and Kim Jeong-cheol won golds for Spain in the recognised women's under-50 and men's over-65 categories respectively, while victory for the American recognised men's junior team added to Barbara Brand's success yesterday in the women's under-65 event.

Tomorrow is set to mark the penultimate day of competition at the World Taekwondo Poomsae Championships.
