Geisenberger claimed her second gold of the Games and sixth in her glittering career as she continues to strengthen her legendary status in the sport.

After retaining her women’s singles crown for the third Games in a row, Geisenberger enjoyed more success on the Xiaohaituo Bobsleigh and Luge Track as she triumphed in the team relay competition.

Geisenberger was joined by pairing Tobias Wendl and Tobias Arlt and Johannes Ludwig who also earned their second titles of Beijing 2022 following their triumphs in the doubles and men’s singles respectively.

The Germans registered a track record time of 3min 3.406sec to seal the title, but they had to work hard for their victory as the Austrians threatened to end their winning run.

Madeleine Egle and Wolfgang Kindl went first before Thomas Steu and Lorenz Koller finished strongly as the Austrians notched 3:03.48.

The pressure was on Wendl and Arlt but they delivered, beating their rivals’ time by 0.080.

The bronze medal went to the Latvian team of Eliza Tiruma, Kristers Aparjods, Martins Bots and Plume Roberts who clocked 3:04.354 for third spot.

"We knew that our sled is fast, so we keep on pushing," said Wendl who won the doubles alongside Arlt at Pyeongchang 2018.

"We saw that the Austrians had good runs.

"Then was a little mistake out of [curve] 13, we don't know exactly is it enough for the win.

"Then we go through [the finish] and saw the one and it is just an amazing feeling, like a dream.

"This team is amazing."

Ludwig added: "It feels like a dream, I didn't expect this.

"I knew that I've been very good this season but to end with two gold medals, it's unbelievable."
