Auner racked up a score of 54.51 points in the men's event as he pipped compatriot Benjamin Karl to victory in the big final, recording his first triumph so far this season.

Karl earned 53.64 points as he narrowly missed out the win.

His previous best finish was third last month at Lake Bannoye in Russia in the second event of the season.

The result was a surprise after Auner only managed to finish 15^th in the qualifying stage.

The event was dominated by Austrians as Alexander Payer and Lukas Mathies competed for the bronze medal in the small final with Payer coming out on top, with a score of 52.92 to 52.79.

In the women's discipline, Ulbing picked up her second gold medal of the season following the December triumph at Carezza in Italy.

The 23-year-old former world champion defeated Germany's Ramona Theresia Hofmeister while Natalia Soboleva of Russia secured the bronze medal over Austria's Julia Dujmovits in the small final by a score of 58.16 to 57.65.

The result means that Ulbing has extended her lead at the top of the overall World Cup standings to 41 points as she currently sits on 346 while Switzerland's Julie Zogg has 305.

Hofmeister rounds out the top three on 292 points.

In the men's standings, Lee Sang-ho remains in pole position despite being knocked out in the quarter-finals today.

The South Korean has 405 points and a healthy lead over Baumeister and Dmitrii Loginov of Russia who are joint-second on 306.

The athletes are set to face off again in the next parallel event in Simonhöhe in Austria on January 14.
