International Paralympic Committee (IPC) have made their I’mPOSSIBLE resources on five-a-side football available during the coronavirus pandemic.

The IPC have encouraged families to try something new through the resource and help children to learn about Paralympic sports.

The I’mPOSSIBLE education toolkit has been produced by the Agitos Foundation – the IPC’s development arm.

Their programme is aimed at promoting social inclusion through raising awareness of the Paralympic Movement.

Teaching resources, lesson plans, worksheets and videos feature as part of the programme.

The IPC hope the resources can help people teach others and change perceptions about people with disabilities.

The five-a-side football unit has been made available to coincide with the IPC’s Sport Week series, which features each of the 22 Summer Paralympic Games sports on digital channels.

A video providing an overview of the sport is included in the resource.

A series of skill activities and questions for participants to reflect on are included in the plan.

The IPC say 35 countries have signed agreements to implement the I’mPOSSIBLE programme to date.

A total of 77,238 children and 1204 teachers were reached by I’mPOSSIBLE in 2019, the organisation added.

The resource has been made available during the coronavirus pandemic, which has led to numerous countries introducing lockdowns in an effort to slow the spread of the disease.

More than 1.8 million coronavirus cases have been reported globally since the outbreak began.

In excess of 110,000 deaths have been confirmed worldwide, while more than 412,000 people have fully recovered.
