Germany’s Julia Rick was the top scorer in women’s open wakeboard qualification as action continued today at the International Waterski and Wakeboard Federation World Cable Wakeboard and Wakeskate Championships in Buenos Aires.

Rick finished first in the Group D standings with 88.00 points at the Argentinean capital’s Pampa Cable Park.

Joining her in going through to the semi-finals was The Netherlands’ Sanne Meijer with 65.33 points. 

Qualifying from Group A were Spain’s Julia Castro Christiansen with 66.67 points and Great Britain’s Steph Caller with 52.00, while France’s Aurelie Godet and Australia’s Courtney Angus progressed from Group B with 73.33 and 71.67 respectively.

In Group C, France’s Salome Le Ly led the way with 43.33 points, followed by China’s Mei Ling Yu with 40.00.

The other four riders in each group are due to contest the last chance qualifiers tomorrow.

The semi-finals are due to take place on Friday (February 22).

Also held today was qualification in the men’s and women’s open wakeskate events.

In the men’s event, France’s Clement De Premonville, Italy’s Giovanni Arrigoni and Germany’s Ole Jacobs progressed to the final after topping their respective tables.

De Premonville scored 86.00 points in Group A, while Arrigoni managed 77.00 in Group B and Jacobs posted 70.00 in Group C.

Spain’s Telma Cester and Israel’s Ori Boujo advanced from Group A in the women’s event, while Slovakia’s Zuzana Vrablova and France’s Le Ly came through Group B.

Cester scored 63.67 points with Boujo on 56.00, Vrablova on 79.33 and Le Ly on 35.33.

In seated open wakeboard qualification, France’s Jerome Elbrycht was the best performer with 74.00 points.
