Hosts Thailand have had a largely successful time on day three of the International Federation of University Sport (FISU) World University Muaythai Championships in Pattaya today.

Four Thai fighters were in action today with only one losing.

The day started badly for the hosts at the Hard Rock Hotel, with Yodphaka Pakorn falling to defeat in what was the fourth bout of the day, in the men’s 57 kilogram category.

He was knocked out on a points decision by Kazakhstan’s Almaz Sarsembekov, 30-27.

The day, though, quickly got better for the Thai’s.

In the very next fight of the day Chanates Natee beat Sadok Bchir from France in the men’s 63.5kg category and then, four fights later, Nangkasem Pratchaya came out for his bout in the 71kg category and won it in the first round.

Elsewhere in the competition, the second fight of the day ended in a very close result in favour of the Spanish fighter Javier Pinedo Blzquez.

He was given a 29-28 points win over Hans Macatangay from the Philippines in the 57kg class.

Later in the day, Kazakhstan’s Zbil Galiyev won by the same points score against Poland’s Oskar Siegert in the 63.5kg class.
