A problem with the supply ultimately led to the match being postponed by organisers, although they sort to play down the issue.

"The electrical panel currently used in the venue is a temporary panel," said Harry Warganegara, deputy director of Games operation at Jakarta Palembang 2018.

"The panel is loose so that it emits smoke.

"There is no fire or fire as reported by some parties."

It was claimed that after three to four hours the problem was fixed, with matches set to take place tomorrow.

Competition did take place in taekwondo, where the first medals of the test events were claimed.

Indonesia won the men’s and women’s individual poomsae titles, with Muhammad Alfi Kusuma triumphing in the former.

He overcame Hong’s Kong’s Cheuk Yin Choy in the final, achieving a total of 117.2 points.

Defia Rosmaniar then overcame Malaysia’s Khim Wen Yap in the women’s gold medal match by scoring 104 points.

Chinese Taipei dominated the first day of archery competition, as they topped the standings in qualifying round for compound.

Their archer Peng Chia Mao then led qualifying in the recurve qualifying.

A total of eight sports are being contested at the test event, including athletics, boxing, pencak silat, volleyball and weightlifting.

Organisers are using the events to prepare for the Asian Games, due to take place from August 18 to September 2.
