American Brady Ellison will be looking to make up for lost time at the third leg of the Indoor Archery World Cup season in Nimes.

The recurve shooter, a triple Olympic medallist, missed the opening two stages of the current campaign in Marrakesh and Bangkok.

With Nimes the last chance to qualify for the Indoor World Cup Final in Las Vegas, it means Ellison needs a good performance on French soil in order to progress.

He missed the action in Moroccan city Marrakesh due to his wife falling ill and then a "travel mishap" ruled him out in Bangkok in Thailand.

The four-time outdoor World Cup champion and double world indoor champion will face competition from South Korea's Rio 2016 Olympic gold medallist Ku Bonchan at the Nimes Arena.

It will be his first international competition since the Las Vegas Indoor World Cup Final in February last year after he was not selected in the South Korean squad for 2017-2018.

In all, 1,194 archers from 50 countries are entered to compete in Nimes.

The women's recurve features Germany's Lisa Unruh who comes into the event as the European record holder.

Unruh, an Olympic silver medallist and world indoor champion, shot 594 out of 600 during an indoor ranking round.

Dutchman Mike Schloesser will be a threat in the men's compound after gold in Marrakesh and bronze in Bangkok, while American Paige Pearce-Gore, the winner in the Thai capital, will be one to watch in women's action with the non-Olympic bow.

She recorded a compound score of 596 at the US trials but this was not ratified so cannot stand as a world record.

Qualification rounds will take place tomorrow before eliminations on Saturday (January 20).

The finals will be held on Sunday (January 21).
