Daren Liew made up for home disappointment elsewhere in the men's singles draw at the Badminton World Federation (BWF) Malaysia Masters in Bukit Jalil with another superb win today.

Home fans were left devastated by the shock defeat suffered by three-time Olympic silver medallist Lee Chong Wei yesterday.

But Liew, who had knocked-out World Championship bronze medallist Son Wan-ho, continued his great form by dispatching another South Korean star.

He defeated Jeon Hyeok Jin 21-17, 19-21, 21-16 at the Axiata Arena.

Suppanyu Avihingsanon of Thailand will be his next opponent in a depleted draw following shock defeats also suffered by Chinese superstars Dan Lin and Chen Long yesterday.

Another Malaysian shuttler, Lee Zii Jia, was beaten today as he lost 19-21, 21-14, 21-15 to Jonatan Christie of Indonesia.
