The Badminton World Federation (BWF) will determine next month the host cities for three of its major events to be held in 2019.

The world governing body has received bids from both Japan’s capital Tokyo and Basel in Switzerland to stage the BWF Para-Badminton World Championships.

Kolding in Denmark and Polish city Katowice, meanwhile, are vying to earn the hosting rights for the BWF World Senior Championships.

Additionally, Czech Republic’s capital Prague has bid for the BWF World Junior Championships.

The BWF Council is due to vote on the bids on November 16 during its year-end meeting in Montego Bay in Jamaica.

The meeting is scheduled to take place between November 12 and 17.

In March, the BWF announced host cities for other major events in 2018 and 2019.

Chinese city Nanjing was awarded the 2018 World Championships and Basel was confirmed as the 2019 hosts.

Bangkok was also given hosting rights with the 2018 Thomas and Uber Cup Finals set to be held there, making it the first time a BWF major will be held in Thailand.

It was also revealed that Nanning in China had been selected as hosts of the 2019 BWF Sudirman Cup.

"We received some high-quality bids and we have assessed what is best for badminton on various levels as we seek to elevate our sport globally," BWF President Poul-Erik Høyer said at the time.
