Reigning Olympic champions Cheick Sallah Cissé and So-Hui Kim showed their superiority by claiming gold as the World Taekwondo (WT) Grand Prix continued its African debut in Morocco's capital Rabat today.

Sallah Cissé, the Ivorian who snatched Olympic gold from Great Britain's Lutalo Muhammad at Rio 2016, sealed the men's under-80 kilograms title at the Complexe Sportif Prince Moulay Abdellah.

Sallah Cissé defeated Egypt's Seif Eissa in the final.

Eissa had to settle for silver while the category's two bronze medals were shared between Azerbaijan's Milad Beigi Harchegani and Mexican Rene Lizarraga.

South Korea enjoyed double success in today's other two weight categories.

Kim prevailed in the final of the women's under-49kg division.

The Rio 2016 champion defeated Thi Kim Tuyen Truong of Vietnam in the final.

Kim was joined on the podium by compatriot Jae-Young Sim, who took one bronze medal, while the podium was completed by Rukiye Yildirim of Turkey.

South Korea's second gold of the day arrived in the men's under-58kg competition.

Tae-Hun Kim sealed his country's second title by overcoming Carlos Navarro of Mexico in the gold medal encounter.

Farzan Ashourzadeh Fallah of Iran and Spaniard Jesus Tortosa Cabrera rounded out the podium by sharing the bronze medals.

Competition continues tomorrow with the women's under-57kg and men's under-68kg events.
