Next year's SPORTELAsia convention in Singapore will provide an even greater platform for developing valuable business opportunities than previous events, SPORTEL chief executive Laurent Puons has claimed.

The event is scheduled to take place at the Shangri-La Hotel from March 13 to 15.

Professionals from the international sports business industry will be among those in attendance at the convention, which SPORTEL have said will include extended exhibition and "intense networking opportunities with Asian business partners".

"We are excited to launch the next SPORTELAsia, which for 2018, I am convinced, positioned as an elite industry event embracing the rapid growth markets of China and throughout Asia, will provide an even greater platform for developing valuable business opportunities and the place to be as a connector of cultures, which unites the world in Asia," Puons said.

SPORTELAsia in Singapore will be held two months prior to the first SPORTELSummit in Miami in May.

The two-day meeting is "designed only for an exclusive circle of international deciders of the sports marketing and media industry", according to organisers.

The 2016 edition of SPORTELAsia, also held in Singapore, was attended by 736 representatives of 371 companies from 47 countries.

Organisers of the 2018 edition are expecting that number to significantly increase.

An exact programme for the convention will be revealed in the coming months.

It will include a number of sessions and panel discussions, as well as time for those in attendance to network with other professionals.
