SPORTEL have added to their portfolio of events with the addition of a new Summit, which was launched here today.

The first-ever edition of the SPORTELSummit will be held in Miami in May next year, with exact dates still to be confirmed.

The two-day meeting is "designed only for an exclusive circle of international deciders of the sports marketing and media industry", according to organisers.

SPORTEL also claim the sports decision makers Summit will "help shape the industry for tomorrow".

"True to the SPORTEL values, it will showcase an illustrious selection of presenters and speakers and provide attendees a new understanding of current and future industry affairs," SPORTEL said in a statement.

"This summit will provide the luxury to really 'Meet The Elite' in special networking sessions and build new business relations with real deciding partners."

The brand-new event, which will be held around two months after the 2018 edition of SPORTELAsia, is set to bring together celebrities, International Federation Presidents and politicians, as well as top-level executives from the industry.

It will allow them to present new projects and speak about their side of the business, which will later be elaborated in detailed discussion sessions.

SPORTEL claim they have decided to establish the Summit in response to the fast-moving international sports media industry.

"In respect to these fast developments and the need to deal with the business essentials, the industry is once again in need of a platform to concentrate all aspects, take a step back to actually deal with industry issues," the statement added.

The creation of the Summit was announced during an event held to mark the 20th anniversary of SPORTELAmerica.

It took place on the opening day of the 2017 convention, which runs until Thursday (March 16).
