Sweden's Anton Lindh has come out on top in the men's disc golf competition at the World Flying Disc Federation (WFDF) World Freestyle and Overall Championships in Basingstoke.

Lindh finished with a total of 164 after today's third and final round at the Down Grange Sports Complex.

Fellow Swedes Anton Kappling and Tomas Burvall came second and third respectively.

Kappling ended up on a score of 169, while Burvall totalled 173. 

The women's event saw Sweden's Juliana Korver prevail with a total of 195.

Compatriot Niloofar Mossavarrahmani was the runner-up with a score of 205, followed by another Swede, Anneli André, with 219.

Basingstoke was chosen to stage the event ahead of other "very strong bids" from the European, North American and Asian regions, according to the WFDF.

This year’s event in the English town is the 13th edition of the WFDF Overall Championships.

Action is due to conclude tomorrow.
