A hearing in London looking into allegations that British boxer Tyson Fury took performance enhancing drugs has been postponed.

It has been reported by the Press Association that the National Anti-Doping Panel hearing which started on Monday (May 7) was halted due to a "potential conflict of interests" with their panel.

A date for when the hearing will be resumed has not been confirmed yet.

The allegations made involve traces of nandrolone being found in a sample provided by the former world heavyweight champion in 2015, with UK Anti-Doping (UKAD) charging Fury.

Fury has claims he is innocent and that the banned substance appeared in his body due to large quantities of contaminated boar meat which he and his cousin Hughie, also a heavyweight boxer who has also been charged by UKAD and was subject to the hearing, ate.

Following the postponement, Fury’s promoter Frank Warren called the decision "ridiculous".

"We want to see the end of this," he said.

"It’s gone on and on.

"It reflects badly on UKAD; it’s taken all this time to get there and in the meantime there’s no outcome.

"This is crazy."

The 28-year-old has not been in the ring since his famous victory over Wladimir Klitschko in November 2015 in Düsseldorf in Germany.

Since then, he the Briton has been battling mental health issues, which he said led him to taking cocaine and having his boxing licence revoked.

He had been planning on making a return to action later this year and a future bout against another British star, the IBF and WBA world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua, has also been mooted.
