USA Weightlifting have announced a partnership agreement with nutrition advice company Renaissance Periodization (RP).

The tie-up will see RP provide services including one-to-one nutrition coaching and diet templates, as part of USA Weightlifting's individual performance plan.

The governing body already has a deal in place with Trifecta Nutrition, an organic meal delivery business, and now believe they can provide even more support to their athletes who are looking to succeed on the world stage.

RP will now have a presence at USA Weightlifting events, and have made a cash contribution to the governing body's stipend programme.

USA Weightlifting will also be partnering with RP to offer more resources to coaches and athletes as part of their membership.

"We are delighted to welcome RP as our partners, this partnership is ideal because not only do we welcome them to our partner family, we also are able to offer more tools to our athletes and coaches," said USA Weightlifting chief executive Phil Andrews.

Nick Shaw, the chief executive of Renaissance Periodization, added: "We're extremely excited to be partnering with USA Weightlifting.

"We've worked with a lot of the top USAW athletes in the past quad and we look forward to guiding more athletes through the upcoming quad and into Tokyo in 2020.

"We are excited to contribute towards the athlete stipend program to allow more of America's best lifters to focus on weightlifting full-time and to help educate USA Weightlifting members."

American city Anaheim will host the International Weightlifting Federation (IWF) World Championships this year.
