Norway's Daniel-Andre Tande claimed victory at the second stage of the Four Hills Tournament, part of the International Ski Federation (FIS) Ski Jumping World Cup calendar, in Garmisch-Partenkirchen today.

Tande finished top of the qualification standings in Oberstdorf on Thursday (December 29) but missed out on a podium position a day later as he finished in fourth place.

Keen to make amends, Tande produced an emphatic first jump of 138 metres in today's final and followed it up with a second effort of 142m.

Combined, Tande collected a score of 289.2 points which was enough to secure victory.

Kamil Stoch of Poland finished in second place with jumps of 135m and 143m which gave him a total score of 286.0, leaving him 3.2 short of Tande.

Austria’s Stefan Kraft, the winner in Oberstdorf, completed the podium as he came third with 282.4 points.

Germany’s Markus Eisenbichler delighted the home crowd yesterday by topping the qualification standings with a jump of 138 metres which registered 141.8 points.

However, Eisenbichler failed to reproduce similar form today.

Jumps of 136.5m and 139.5m gave him a total of 278.9 points which was only good enough to secure fourth place.

Overall World Cup leader Domen Prevc of Slovenia once again failed to reach the podium, scoring 278.5 points which saw him finish in fifth place.

Prevc appeared to be back on track yesterday after his problems in Oberstdorf, when he finished way back in 26th place, as he qualified in fourth, but failed to build on that performance.

Overall, Stoch currently leads the 65th edition of the tournament overall with 591.2 points from the opening two legs.

He sits ahead of 2015 winner Kraft on 590.4 and Tande on 584.6 in second and third respectively.

Following the conclusion of the second leg in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, the Four Hills Tournament will now move to Austria for competitions in Innsbruck and Bischofshofen on January 4 and 6 respectively.
