The nominees for the inaugural TV Sports Awards, which will be held as part of SPORTELMonaco 2015 at the Grimaldi Forum in Monte Carlo in October, have been announced.

Eurosport, BT Sport and LeTV Sports have been nominated in the Best Sports Broadcaster category, while International Sports Broadcasting’s coverage of Baku 2015, along with the FIFA Women’s World Cup and Amaury Sports Organisation, who organise the Tour de France, are the nominees for the Best Live Event Coverage award.

Omnigon’s Rugby World Cup App Adidas’ ‘All in or Nothing’ advertising campaign and The Madden GIFERATOR created by EA Sports are vying for the Best Digital Media Project prize.

Discovery and Eurosport’s agreement for the European rights of the Olympic Games is one of the nominees in the Best TV Rights Deal category alongside Women’s Tennis Association’s deal with Perform for global media rights and the Bundesliga’s betting rights deal with Sportsman Media Group.

In the last of the five award categories, Eurosport chief executive Peter Hutton, La Liga President Javier Tebas and Joerg Daubitzer, managing director of DFL Sports Enterprises, will battle it out for the Media Executive of the Year award.

The winners will be announced at the TV Sports Awards ceremony on October 12.

“The shortlists for the inaugural TV Sports Awards include some of the most influential executives, broadcasters, networks, International Sports Federations, distributors and right owners in the industry,” Marie Le Page, director of Play for Change, a children’s charity which has partnered the awards, said.

“We look forward to hosting some of the most important stakeholders in the sport and media industry at the ceremony, which will help raise funds for Play for Change to develop and grow our global programmes that help transform the lives of young vulnerable children through sports and education.”

As well as the awards in the television sector, Play for Change will also hand out a special prize to a top-class athlete who they feel contributes most to helping vulnerable children through sport.

The athlete will have demonstrated their willingness to aid some of the world’s youngsters through supporting, funding and advocating worthy campaigns, initiatives and projects.

The ceremony itself is set to be attended by several sporting legends as well as high-profile guests from the various industries which will be represented at the conference.

SPORTELMonaco runs from October 12 to 15 and insidethegames is an official media partner of the event.
