November 1 - Land Rover has been unveiled as an official sponsor of the 2014 World Equestrian Games in Normandy, by the International Equestrian Federation (FEI).
The agreement, which will see the vehicle manufacturer provide a 55-strong fleet to support the event due to take place from August 23 to September 7, build on Land Rover's already strong presence in the equestrian world thanks to its partnerships with the likes of the Burghley Horse Trials, the US Equestrian Federation and the Paris Masters.
Land Rover USA was also a sponsor of the 2010 World Equestrian Games in Lexington, Kentucky.
"We are proud to be sponsoring the most important event in world equestrianism in 2014, as Land Rover has a long and successful history of supporting horsemanship and sport at all levels," Land Rover's global brand experience director, Mark Cameron, said.
"This prestigious competition will provide an exceptional platform for us to connect with audiences in key markets around the globe and demonstrate the quality, performance and appeal of our vehicles."
The FEI World Equestrian Games take place every four years and next year's event will see competitions in jumping, eventing, dressage and Para-dressage, driving, endurance, reining and vaulting hosted across five venues in the Normandy region.
Exhibition events for polo and horse-ball are also included in the two-week programme, which is expected to attract more than half a million visitors and a cumulative global television audience of 500 million.
