The American city has been chosen to stage the finals of the FEI World Cup Jumping and Dressage in 2020, with both competitions due to be held at the iconic MGM Grand Garden Arena for the first time.

Las Vegas has already staged six FEI World Cup Finals, two in jumping and four in combined jumping and dressage, but the events took place at the Thomas and Mack Center.

The competition in Las Vegas will be held from April 15 to 19, the FEI has confirmed.

The FEI Bureau, meeting before the organisation’s General Assembly on Wednesday (November 22), selected the Scandinavium Arena in Gothenburg to host the FEI World Cup Jumping and Dressage Finals in 2021.

Gothenburg, which has vast experience of hosting international equestrian events, has been described as the "spiritual home" of the World Cup Jumping Final having staged the inaugural edition back in 1979.

The Swedish city has been a go-to venue for the FEI since then, playing host to a total of 22 Finals.

The 2021 event is scheduled to take place from March 31 to April 5 and will be part of the celebrations for Gothenburg’s 400th birthday.

Rotterdam was the third city to be given a major FEI event as the global governing body announced the Dutch city will host the FEI European Championships in 2019 in jumping, dressage and Para-equestrian dressage from August 19 to 25.

"We are delighted to confirm the allocation of some of our major finals and championships to major global cities like Las Vegas, Gothenburg and Rotterdam," FEI secretary general Sabrina Ibáñez said.

"The Organising Committees for all these top events have such hands-on practical experience, and understand the process, commitment and dedication involved in organising these important fixtures on the FEI calendar.

"We are very grateful to all the organisers who put in bids for these key events and are extremely happy to have the opportunity to showcase our sport in major global cities."
