Home players will bid for glory in both the men's and women's finals at the Badminton World Federation (BWF) Thailand Open after last four clashes were held in Bangkok.

In the men's draw, fifth seed Tanongsak Saensomboonsuk kept hopes of a host nation winner alive as he battled past Japan's eighth seed Kenta Nishimoto in straight games.

He triumphed 21-19, 21-6 and will now play Indonesia's Sony Dwi Kuncoro for glory at the Nimibutr Stadium.

Kuncoro, who won the Singapore Open Super Series tournament earlier this season, is the second seed and the best-ranked player left in the Thai capital.

He came from behind to oust Hong Kong's Lee Cheuk Yiu, 19-21, 21-16, 21-17.

In the women's competition at the Grand Prix Gold event, an all-Thai final was on the cards but only one of their players made it through the last four.

That was third seed Busanan Ongbamrungphan, who was a 22-20, 21-13 victor over Goh Jin Wei of Malaysia.

Her compatriot Nitchaon Jindapon could not join her in the final, however, as the fourth seed was knocked out by Japan's Aya Ohori 21-12, 12-21, 21-13.

In the men's doubles, Indonesia's second seeds Berry Angriawan and Rian Agung Saputro will be favourites in the final after defeating Malaysia's Lim Khim Wah and Ong Jian Guo 21-17, 21-18 in their last four match.

They will meet unseeded Japanese duo Takuto Inoue and Yuki Kaneko in the showpiece match after their win over another Indonesian pair, Fajar Alfian and Muhammad Rian Ardianto, 21-19, 24-22.

Thailand will hope for home glory in the women's doubles as top seeds Puttita Supajirakul and Sapsiree Taerattanachai are safely into the final thanks to a 21-14, 21-13 success over Japan's Miki Kashihara and Miyuki Kato.

Another Japanese team stands in their way of the title as Mayu Matsumoto and Wakana Nagahara booked their passage through by defeating Thai second seeds Jongkolphan Kititharakul and Rawinda Prajongjai, 21-19, 21-17.

Hong Kong's Tang Chun Man and Tse Ying Suet came from behind to beat Thailand's Supak Jonkoh and Supajirakul 18-21, 21-13, 21-15.

They will meet Malaysians Tan Kian Meng and Lai Pei Jing who disappointed another home duo in Dechapol Puavaranukroh and Sapsiree Taerattanachai, 22-24, 21-17, 21-14.

All five finals will be played tomorrow.
