Pyeonchang_2018_Jan_12January 12 - The Korean Broadcasters Association (KBA) has signed a sponsorship deal with the Pyeongchang 2018 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games Bid Committee to cover the bidding process on various news, entertainment and cultural television programmes.


The agreement was signed by Pyeongchang's Bid Committee chairman and chief executive officer Yang Ho Cho and KBA President In-Kyu Kim.

The deal will offer bid exposure by the KBA's 38 television broadcaster members over the next six months.

Yang Ho Cho said: "I would like to express great appreciation for the KBA's committed support.

"Over 91 per cent of the Korean population endorses our bid, and the nation's passionate support inspires us to keep our promises to the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and ensure that our plan for the Winter Games delivers the very best experience for fans from across the world."

In-Kyu Kim said: "I am very pleased to add our support to help bring the 2018 Winter Games to Korea for the very first time.

"We look forward to working with the Bid Committee over the next six months of the campaign as public excitement increases about the 2018 host city decision."
