Thomas Bach has led the DOSB since it was formed in 2006September 17 - A new President of the German Olympic Sports Confederation (DOSB) to replace Thomas Bach will be elected in December, it has been announced.

Bach officially resigned yesterday after being elected as the new President of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and has been replaced on an interim basis by Hans-Peter Kraemer.

But Kraemer, former chairman of the Cologne District Savings Bank, who was Bach's deputy, is not interested in the role on a permanent basis.

He wants a replacement to complete the remaining year of Bach's four-year term to be elected at the DOSB's General Assembly on December 7.

Kraemer has already started the search for a replacement, who he said should be an "all-rounder" and "rooted in society, sports, and the industry".
