Garrett will provide more than 1,200 metal detection products, including 220 walk-through metal detectors and 1,000 hand-held metal detectors for security use at Games venues.

The agreement marks more than 30 years since Garrett first provided security products for a major international multi-sport event, the 1984 Los Angeles Olympic Games.

Since then, Garrett has also provided security products for Games venues during the 1987 Pan American Games in Indianapolis and the Vancouver 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games.

"Garrett Metal Detectors is proud to partner with Toronto 2015 and share their passion to provide a safe and enjoyable environment for athletes, officials and spectators during the Toronto 2015 Games," said Henry Tellez, vice-president of international sales and marketing at Garrett Metal Detectors.

The equipment will be used at more than 30 competition venues in 15 different municipalities during the Games.

The Toronto 2015 Pan American Games are due take place July 10 until 26 and the Parapan American Games August 7 to 15.
