IAAF to take Russian drug cases to CAS

Tatyana TomashovaNovember 27 - The International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) said today it had lodged an appeal seeking harsher doping bans on seven Russian female athletes, including two-times world 1500 metres champion Tatyana Tomashova (pictured), at the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) in Lausanne.


Johnson quits Strictly Come Dancing

November 21 - Jade Johnson (pictured), the 2002 European and Commonwealth Games long jump silver medallist, was tonight forced to pull-out of Strictly Come Dancing because she does not want to jeopardise her chances of competing at the London 2012 Olympics.



Bolt and Gay set to sparkle in Diamond League

November 21 - Jamaica's Usain Bolt (pictured) and the United States Tyson Gay will race each other at least three times next year in the new Diamond League, the 14-event $6.6 million (£4 million) worldwide series which was officially launched by the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) in Monte Carlo tonight .



No secret deal with Semenya, IAAF insist

November 19 - There is no secret deal between the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) and Caster Semenya (pictured) allowing her to keep the gold medal she won in the 800 metres at the World Championships in Berlin earlier this year, the world governing body claimed.



Ramzi stripped of Olympic 1500m title

Rashid Ramzi_13-12-11November 18 - Bahrain's Rashid Ramzi (pictured) has been stripped of his Olympic 1500 metres gold medal and four other competitors were disqualified from the Beijing Games because of doping-related offences, it was announced by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) today.


Decision on Semenya delayed

November 18 - Caster Semenya's (pictured) athletics future remains in limbo for the time being after the International Association of Athletics Federations (AAF) said today no decision would be made on her status this week.
