The country is now approaching the 400 medals mark, helped by a haul of 12 gold medals during athletics finals at the HSC Stadium.

The first came in the men’s 100 metres T38 category, led by Zhu Dening, who took gold.

The second sweep of athletics medals of the day came in the men’s long jump T37-T38 category, with Dening again finishing top of the podium.

There was also a medal sweep for China in the women’s 800m T54 final, with Tian Yajuan taking gold.

At the swimming competition, China claimed six sweeps of the medals at the HOC Aquatic Sports Arena.

The first came in the opening final of the day, the women’s 200m individual medley SM11 final with gold going to Cai Liwen.

Jiang Yuyan led home a China one-two-three in the women’s 400m freestyle S6 category.  

China swept the medals in both the SB6 breaststroke finals, with the women’s gold going to Liu Daomin and the men’s to Yang Hong.

Xu Haijiao led Chinese medal sweeps in two more men’s finals, firstly the 100m freestyle S8, and later the 100m breaststroke SB8, with Yang Guanglong winning silver each time.

At the FYY Sports Center medals were won in four archery categories.

Hosts China triumphed in the men’s doubles W1 open category, with Han Guifei and Zhang Tianxin taking gold by beating the Republic of Korea 147-144.

The Republic of Korea gained revenge in the mixed team W1 open category, as Kim Okgeum and Park Hongjo defeated China 144-141.

India won the mixed team compound open gold medal, as Sheetal Devi and Rakesh Kumar triumphed 151-149 against China.

Finally, in the mixed team recurve open category, gold went to the Islamic Republic of Iran, with Zahra Nemati and Mohammad reza Arab Ameri winning 6-0 against China.

Indonesia impressed during the chess competitions at the Hangzhou Qi-Yuan, with the highlight being a clean sweep of the medals in the women’s individual standard VI-B2/B3, where gold went to Wijayanti Putri Brahmana Aisah.

In the men’s individual standard classes, gold in VI-B1 went to Yoga Indra, while Tirto triumphed in the PI class.

Indonesia also won four chess team golds, with wins coming in the men’s VI-B1 and PI categories, and in the women’s VI-B2/B3 and PI.

In the men’s team go final at the Hangzhou Qi-Yuan, gold went to the Republic of Korea, with China winning silver and Chinese Taipei taking the bronze.

China won three powerlifting golds today at the XSC Gymnasium, with Xu Lili winning the women’s under-73 kilograms category, Han Miaoyu the women’s under-79kg and Tan Yujiao the women’s under-67kg.

There were two shooting titles up for grabs today at the FYY Sports Center with India taking gold in the mixed 50m rifle prone SH1 through Sidhartha Babu.

Hosts China enjoyed more success in women’s wheelchair basketball, winning gold after overcoming Japan 61-30 at the HOC Gymnasium.

There was double team fencing success for China, who claimed the men’s foil gold by beating Iraq 45-26 at the HDU Gymnasium, as well as Thailand by the same scoreline to win the women’s epee team title.

Finally in wheelchair tennis Japan won both of the singles golds, with Koji Sugeno beating compatriot Daisuke Ishito 6-2, 6-3 to claim the quad title, and Yui Kamiji a comprehensive 6-2, 6-0 victor over China’s Zhu Zhenzhen in the women’s singles category.

China now have more than 100 medals of each colour, with their medal total of 393 far superior to any other team.
