Mongolian boxer Chinzorig Baatarsukh and Filipino basketball player Justin Brownlee both topped the podium at the re-arranged Games in the Chinese city last month.

Baatarsukh won gold in the men's light welterweight division after defeating Lai Chu-en of Chinese Taipei in the final by unanimous decision.

The 32-year-old has failed for anabolic steroid metandienone.

The American-born Brownlee, who became a naturalised Filipino citizen in January 2023, starred in the men's basketball final as the Philippines defeated Jordan 70-60 to win the gold medal in an event delayed by a year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

He scored 20 points and enjoyed 10 rebounds in the contest, but the American-born player has failed for carboxy-THC, which forms in the body after cannabis is taken.

Reports in the Philippines suggest Brownlee may have taken medicine with traces of cannabis.

Sami Bzai of Jordan, who also played in the final, has also tested positive for testosterone.

As a player on each side has failed a test, the Olympic Council of Asia has confirmed that the result from the match will currently stand.

Pakistan kabaddi player Adil Hussain has also been announced as failing a test for nandrolone. 

The country won a share of bronze with Chinese Taipei after losing their semi-final to eventual champions India.

All of the athletes have the right to request the opening of their B-sample, before the case is referred to the Anti-Doping Division of the Court of Arbitration for Sport for adjudication.
