The women are now on their best run, having previously claimed five golds in a row between Chicago 1959 and Mexico City 1975.

Chiles, the co-flagbearer for the Americans at the Opening Ceremony on Friday (October 30) with shooter Vincent Hancock, was in fine form as she topped the individual standings with 54.666 points.

Brazil won silver on 161.564 points and Canada took bronze on 154.230.

"I feel great and happy to be able to do all four events and honestly, this has been all about the team and being able to go out and do what we have always done," Chiles, given a fantastic reception by the Santiago crowd, said.

"The practices have been good, but at the end of the day we cannot control what happens, now we are going to continue practicing and doing what we know how to do.

"I am very proud of myself and the entire team too."

The women's individual all-around is due to take place tomorrow.
