Jordan Sarrou of Team BMC and Laura Stigger of Specialized Factory Racing secured cross-country titles at the International Cycling Union (UCI) Mountain Bike World Cup in Snowshoe.

The event also saw Marine Cabirou of Scott Downhill Factory and Oisin O’Callaghan of YT Mob come out on top in the downhill events.

Frenchman Sarrou clocked 1hr 18min 38sec to pip Nino Schurter of Switzerland in what was a tight battle.

Schurter riding for Scott-SRAM MTB Racing Team lost the race by one second with the compatriot Marcel Guerrini breathing down his neck.

The final lap saw the trio exchange leads before Sarrou sprinted to victory, with Guerrini settling for bronze three seconds behind the winner.

Switzerland was the strongest nation with Matthias Flückiger of Thömus Maxon finishing fourth.

World champion Tom Pidcock of Britain was impressive in finishing fifth, despite the Ineos Grenadiers rider suffering from two front punctures.

Stigger clocked 1:21:56 and was way ahead of Leona Lecomte, who finished with silver.

Austria Stigger managed to finish 23 seconds faster than Lecomte Canyon CLLCTV while Italian Martina Berta of Santa Cruz Rockshox Pro Team took bronze in 1:22:28.

Cabirou added to the French tally in the US, crossing the line only three-tenths of a second ahead of Nina Hoffman of Santa Cruz Syndicate.

German's Hoffman clocked 3:41.386 while Valentina Höll got third place for Rockshox Trek Race Team with an effort of 3:41.702.

The performance from Höll was enough for the world champion to seal the 2023 World Cup series title ahead of the final round in Mont-Sainte-Anne, Canada next weekend.

O’Callaghan was joined by fellow Irish rider Ronan Dunne of Continental Nukeproof Factory on the podium with the duo separated only by 0.496.

Dakotah Norton of Intense Factory Racing gave something for the home fans to cheer about, claiming bronze in 3:08.987.

Victor Koretzky of Specialized Factory Racing and Evie Richards of Trek Factory Racing XC emerged victorious in the short track competitions.

Richards was sensational with a timing of 19:54 building an early lead as only Puck Pieterse of Alpecin- Decuninck managed to close the gap.

Dutch ride Pieterse finished five seconds behind in second and secured the overall title with Australian Rebecca Henderson of Primaflor Mondraker Genuins Racing Team another four seconds back in third.

Frenchman Koretzky launched an attack in the final lap that secured the gold medal in 20:54.

Four seconds separated the other two medallists as compatriot Sarrou finished two seconds later, followed by German Luca Schwarzbauer of Canyon CLLCTV in 20:58.
