Paralympics Australia have held their latest "team processing" session for possible team members for Paris 2024.

Athletes nominated by sports as potential qualifiers for the Paris 2024 Paralympics were invited to Sydney to attend a session held at the Allianz Stadium, also known as the Sydney Football Stadium.

"It’s such a privilege to be able to give Australia’s elite Para-athletes a sense that their hard work is moving them in the right direction," Paralympic team Chef de Mission Kate McLoughlin said.

McLoughlin led the team at the Rio 2016 and Tokyo 2020 and was also Chef de Mission for the Beijing 2022 Winter Paralympics.

Paris 2024 is set to be be her fourth Games in charge of the team.

"Not everyone will make it to Paris 2024, but a Games campaign is made up of many contributors in and out of the sporting arena, all of whom play an important role," McLoughlin said.

The meetings were used for officials to collect information about the requirements of Para-athletes in areas such as mobility, diet and uniform size.

"This is Paralympics Australia’s chance to gather information so we can give all our athletes everything they need to be able to compete at their very best when they compete at the Paralympic Games," McLoughlin explained.

It follows similar sessions held in Perth, Adelaide and Melbourne during February.

Further gatherings are set to take place in Canberra and Brisbane later this month.

Athletes were also given briefings about the Games and were able to meet representatives of Paralympic Australia's corporate partners Allianz.

Australia have been represented at every Summer Paralympics since 1960.

In Tokyo, they fielded over 170 athletes, their largest overseas team since the Paralympics began.

They won 80 medals of which 21 were gold.
