The National Olympic Committee of Sierra Leone (NOC-SLE) has elected Prince Vandy Sualley as its new President.

Sualley replaced Dr Patrick Coker as the new head of the NOC-SLE.

Coker was re-elected unopposed as President in 2019 during the body's Congress at the OlympAfrica sports centre in Goderich.

The latest elections saw Sualley get 23 votes while his opponents Kelvin Ezekeil Kellie got four and Mohamed Turay got one respectively.

Voting took place at the VIP lounge of the Bintumani Hotel in Freetown, Sierra Leone.

Unisa Deen Kargbo will joing the Executive Board as the treasurer along with while vice-president Idrissa Massaquoi.

Oness Johnson and VictorAmara will also represent NOC-SLE as ex officio member.

Sierra Leone is yet to win its first Olympic medal, having competed at 12 editions of the Summer Games, including Tokyo 2020.

They also sent a squad to the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games.

The West-African nation is yet to win a medal at the Commonwealth Games as well.
