Finland became the only nation to beat the United States at this year's World Cheerleading Championships in main events, concluding the competition with victory in the all-girl category at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex in Orlando.

The host nation's only defeat prior to that in 2022 had been in the adaptive abilities unified L4 co-ed event, which Wales won.

The Finns made the final as the top qualifier in the all-girl premier, and went onto take the gold medal.

Silver went to the US and bronze to Germany, who had qualified in eighth.

It was back to the natural order in the co-ed premier category, which the US claimed gold in, being joined by Germany and Finland on the podium.

Team jazz gold went to the Americans too, with Mexico and Puerto Rico finishing second and third in that order.

The US topped the hip-hop podium, joined by England and Mexico in silver and bronze, respectively; and did the same in the pom competition, with Slovenia and Finland completing the podium.

The hosts were not present in doubles competition, with Thailand instead taking the doubles hip-hop gold medal.

Mexico and Ecuador were the silver and bronze medallists, respectively.

Japan claimed the doubles pom title in front of Mexico and Puerto Rico.
