Three mixed doubles teams have booked their playoff spots at curling's Olympic Qualification Event in Dutch city Leeuwarden - Australia, South Korea and the United States.

The Australians remain unbeaten in Group A and sit top of the pile.

Dean Hewitt and Tahli Gill earned an improbable victory over their Danish counterparts, scoring four unanswered points in the last two ends to take it 8-7, and then saw off a Russian Olympic Committee (ROC) duo 8-6.

Hungary beat Turkey 8-7 in their only match today and are best-placed to also advance, with Germany and the ROC in the hunt for the other two playoff berths too.

In Group B, South Korea and the Americans both have five wins from five and will face off tomorrow to determine who wins the group.

South Korea's Kim Min-ji and Lee Ki-jeong beat Estonia 10-8 via an extra end and saw off Latvia 9-7 on another impressive day.

The American rink - Vicky Persinger and Chris Plys - enjoyed more routine victories.

Japan and Finland play tomorrow to decide the third playoff team from Group B.

Three sessions are scheduled tomorrow as round-robin play concludes.

Beijing 2022 berths will then be decided on playoff day on Thursday (December 9).

Two teams will qualify for the Winter Olympics.
