It was another perfect day for racing in the premier Chinese ski resort, one of the venues for the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing.

In the big final heat of the women’s competition, Laffont faced Jaelin Kauf of the United States, who crashed out in the middle section of the course while trying to close the gap, leaving the French skier with an easy run to the finish line.

Despite going down in the big final, Kauf finished the weekend’s competition in second place to earn her first podium finish of the campaign.

Kauf sits over 150 points behind the current leader Laffont, who has exactly 300 points following her three victories in Ruka and Thaiwoo, in the overall standings.

Hannah Soar of the United States completed the women’s podium in third place, the best result of her World Cup career.

The 20-year-old US skier won the small final against 19-year-old Kisara Sumiyosh of Japan, who made it into top 10 for the second time this season.

In the men's event, Kingsbury was back to his winning ways, confidently climbing the ladder heat after heat before facing Benjamin Cavet in the big final.

Despite all the efforts from the French skier, Kingsbury was unbeatable on the day, winning the final heat with 88.34 points to Cavet’s 84.80.

"You can see the level is very high this season,” said Kingsbury.

"Ikuma (Horishima), Ben (Cavet) and other guys have been pushing me hard, so it’s nice to close out the weekend on top of the podium.”

In men’s small final, Saturday’s winner Ikuma Horishima  of Japan came out victorious over Britain’s Thomas Gerken Schofield.

Kingsbury leads the overall freestyle standings with 280 points after three competitions.

Horishima is second on 240, with Cavet third.

The next stop for moguls skiers on the FIS Freestyle Ski World Cup tour will be Tremblant in Canada on January 25.
