South Korea-based company DY Corporation has become an official supporter of next year's Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games in Pyeongchang in the category of "car washing machines".

DY Corporation will provide financial support and ensure that all Games vehicles are kept clean and in order throughout the events.

This includes athlete buses, media transport, Games family transport and staff buses.

Established in 1978, DY Corporation opened its auto arm in 1986 with a large plant at their global base in Incheon.

They are in the top 50 global automotive suppliers and specialise in various automotive applications, including front and rear wiper motor engines, engine cooling fan motors and window lift motors.

"DY Corporation has a long history of successful business in Korea and beyond," Eom Chan-wang, marketing director general for Pyeongchang 2018, said.

"We are delighted to have their support through DY.

"We are sure that they will be proud to be part of the Games journey with us and will ensure our Games fleet is kept to the highest standard of cleanliness."

Kim Yong-jin, President and chief executive of DY Corporation, added: "The philosophy of DY Corporation and all elements of our business is achievement, passion, responsibility and openness.

"We find the same values to be true of the Olympic Winter Games Pyeongchang 2018 and we are very proud to be delivering an important service for them during Games time next year."

In March, local rice company Cheorwon Odae-ssal became a partner of Pyeongchang 2018 after signing a deal with the Organising Committee in Cheorwon County. 

Cheorwon Odae-ssal were attributed to the "packaged raw rice" category and become an official supporter of Pyeongchang 2018.

The company will provide financial support to Pyeongchang 2018 to assist with their preparations for the Games.

They will also have marketing rights for the event.

The Olympics in Pyeongchang are scheduled to take place from February 9 to 25 and the Paralympics are due to be held from March 8 to 18.

Pyeongchang 2018 has a total of 17 official supporters with the list also including Interpark, an online auction and shopping mall, and Ahnlab, a security software provider.
