The Korea Airports Corporation (KAC) has signed a sponsorship deal with next year's Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games in Pyeongchang.

It has signed an agreement with Pyeongchang 2018 at the KAC headquarters in Seoul, with the Organising Committee's President Lee Hee-beom in attendance.

"We truly appreciate KAC for their generous donation to the Winter Games Pyeongchang 2018," said Lee.

"The response we have had from local companies has been outstanding and we feel this shows that the passion and excitement around the Games for the people of Korea is building and that they will come together to enjoy the biggest winter sports event ever to be held in Asia.

"With only four months to go until the start of the Games, we encourage everyone to buy their tickets now and get ready to witness what will be a showcase of the best winter sports athletes in the world, as well as a showcase of Korean culture."

It manages and operates 14 airports in South Korea including Gimpo – Seoul's second largest airport – and Yangyang International airport.

"Pyeongchang 2018 is a momentous occasion for Korea and as a local company with economic growth and development at the heart of our mission, we wanted to play our part to help ensure that the Games is as successful as it can be," Sung Il-Hwan, President and chief executive of KAC, said.

"As a company we are excited that we will be welcoming the world through many of our airports and we will be doing all we can to ensure everyone has the best experience possible."
