Michelle Webb has left the British Olympic Association (BOA) following seven years at the organisation to join the National Football League’s United Kingdom (NFL UK).

Webb, who has 10 years of experience in sponsorship, commercial marketing and partner management, first joined the BOA in 2010 and previously held the positions of corporate partnerships manager and client services director.

In July 2016 she was named the BOA's sponsorship director but has now joined the NFL UK sponsorship team.

At the BOA she was involved in three Olympic Games, including London 2012, Sochi 2014 and Rio 2016.

She was a key member of the BOA's commercial team who signed multi-million pound sponsorship deals with brands such as adidas, British Airways, Nissan, DFS and Kellogg’s.

Webb also worked across a number of events such as the Team GB Ball, the Professional Cricketers' Awards and British House at various Games.

"It’s a really exciting time to be joining the NFL UK team, the sport continues to appeal to and engage with UK fans, and four games in 2017 gives us the opportunity to grow even more," Webb said.

"I’m enthused about the possibilities and look forward to working with brands who can help continue to develop the sport in this country and collaborate on new and innovative campaigns."

American football continues to grow in the UK with London set to stage four games this year, one more than in 2016 and the most it has ever hosted.

There will be two games staged at Wembley and two at Twickenham Stadium.

It is claimed by the NFL that the UK has a fan base of more than 13 million people.

"We are delighted that Michelle has joined our commercial team at a time of such growth," added Melissa Brown, vice-president of commercial partnerships at NFL UK.

"Michelle’s creativity and natural flair for delivering meaningful brand partnerships mean she will complement our team and vision and help us deliver outstanding results."
