English winger Henry Arundell is set to represent the nation at next year's Six Nations Championship, after uncertainty over his future with the national team, due to a move to France following the men's Rugby World Cup.

Arundell starred for England in yesterday's 71-0 thrashing of Chile in Lille by scoring five tries.

He has recently joined Paris-based Racing 92 in France's Top 14 league from English Premiership club London Irish, after they encountered financial difficulties and entered administration.

England's Rugby Football Union (RFU) regulations would usually prevent the national team from selecting Arundell for next year's prestigious Six Nations Championship, which also includes Scotland, Wales, Ireland, France and Italy.

However, The Telegraph reports London Irish's financial issues are set to be deemed "exceptional circumstances", allowing Arundell to compete in next year's tournament, scheduled from February 2 to March 16, but not on the tour to Japan and New Zealand later in the year.

A final decision is expected to be taken after the World Cup by the Professional Game Board, comprising representatives of Premiership Rugby, the RFU and Rugby Players' Association.

Jack Willis was granted a similar exemption to play for England at this year's Six Nations after his move to Toulouse because of the demise of Wasps in England.

England finished as runners-up at the last Rugby World Cup in 2019, and are set to play their final Pool D match of this year's tournament in France against Samoa in Lille on October 7.
