In its bid to fight harassment and conflicts of interest, the Pan American Taekwondo Union (PATU) has launched a platform for making anonymous complaints.

Those facing abuse in the sport in the Americas region ca register their complaints by emailing to denunciaanonima@panamericantaekwondounion.

"No type of abuse is tolerable in the Pan-American Taekwondo family, which is why we will give priority and open this new space for all those who need support in the face of any discomfort caused, and thus make justice and well-being prevail," PATU President Juan Manuel López Delgado said.

"It is our commitment to tell you that everyone who contacts us will be attended to immediately, with the discretion and professionalism of maintaining anonymity.

"In PATU, the Olympic Charter and the fundamental principles on which our martial art is based will always prevail."

PATU has encouraged anyone who feels they are a victim of any type of abuse or conflict to reach out through the email address.

The governing body wished for its members to enjoy its activities so that the continental federation can promote, develop, and evolve the sport.

The next big event for PATU is the Santiago 2023 Pan American and Parapan American Games.

Taekwondo competitions at Santiago 2023 is scheduled to be held from October 21 to 24 the Contact Sports Center in Nuñoa, within the National Stadium Complex.
