The 36-year-old won the inaugural edition of the World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) Premier 12.

South Korea defeated the United States 8-0 in the tournament final that featured the 12 best teams as per WBSC world rankings.

At the WBSC Premier 12 in 2015, Woo pitched 2.2 innings in the semi-final against Japan and 1.1 innings in the final against the United States without conceding a run.

At the delayed Olympics in Tokyo, he didn't allow a run over two innings.

Woo made his Korean Baseball Organisation (KBO) debut in 2006, after signing for the Samsung Lions in 2005.

The veteran won four consecutive Korean Series titles with them from 2011 to 2015.

According to South Korean news agency Yonhap, he signed with LG Twins after the 2016 season as a free agent on a four-year contract and re-signed with them before the 2021 season.

However, a shoulder injury ruled him out for the first part of the year.

The 2014 Asian Games squad member had 112 wins and 1,413 strikeouts in his KBO career, with is last match coming on July 2021.

Woo decided to call it quits as "[he was] unable to regain his velocity" after undergoing surgery.
