Karolina Jarosova and Terezie Taborska were the stars among girls, winning the 2,000m steeplechase and 200m titles, respectively.

Jarosova clocked 6min 23.58sec for the gold medal, with Andrea Nygaard of Norway coming second in 6:33.99.

The bronze medal went to Sweden’s Majken Maria Larsson, who clocked 6:36.01.

In the 200m final, Taborska crossed the line in 23.61 before Maja Barbara Wozniak of Poland and Miia Ott of Estonia completed the podium spots.

Wozniak finished in 24.08 for silver while Ott secured bronze in 24.21.

Petr Meindlschmid of the Czech Republic triumphed in the boys long jump event with a leap of 7.90 metres.

James Armant Sordet of France with 7.45m and Romanian Marius Cristian Popescu with 7.27m won silver and bronze, respectively.

Italy and Britain were the best nations in road racing.

With a timing of 1hour 19.25min, Linda Sanarini came first in the girls road race final.

It was an exciting sprint finish in the end as Spaniard Paula Jessica Ostiz and Maria Okrucinska of Poland bagged the second and third spot on the podium.

The boys road race final saw Max Hinds make Britain proud, crossing the finish line in 1:32:50.

Italy enjoyed another cycling medal as Alessio Magagnotti settled for silver in 1:33:22 while bonze went to Austrian Heimo Jiayang Fugger.

Mixed team events took part in artistic gymnastics as France and Italy claimed gold medals.

With a score of 25.915, France beat Switzerland in one mixed team pairs final while Italy got the better of Germany 26.816 to 26.582 to be crowned champions in the other.

Italy claimed two gold medals in swimming events with Daniele Del Signore taking the title in the 200m backstroke among boys with a timing of 1:59.84.

The European nation also claimed the mixed 4x100m medley relay, clocking 3:55.89.

Germany and Britain had a close battle for second and third spot, with the former edging in 3:57.53 to the latter’s 3:57.69.

Italy maintained the lead at the top of the medals table with 28 medals overall.

The Czech Republic is second on 10 and Romania sit third with the same number.

The Czechs, however, have seven golds compared to the five of Romania.

Competition is scheduled to continue in Slovenia tomorrow with medal events in athletics, 3x3 basketball, artistic gymnastics, judo and swimming.
