The European Para Championships (EPC) is set to hold an observer programme for future potential hosts of the European Para Youth Games.

Representatives of countries interested in hosting a future edition of the European Para Youth Games are being invited to the European Para Championships, due to be held in Rotterdam in August.

As part of the observer programme, potential hosts will be able to speak to organisers, ask questions, hear from previous hosts and take part in guided tours.

"We expect that, by attending, potential future hosts will be able to visualise the huge impact the European Para Youth Games could have on athlete development in the region," said EPC President Raymon Blondel.

"The Games are an opportunity to experience an international multi-sport event for the first time, and all that brings with it in terms of education, connecting with peers, classification, clean sport and being part of such an event.

"We hope attendees will have an amazing experience at Rotterdam Ahoy and the city centre venues where the organisers aim to bring Para sports to the people.

"Hopefully the stars of the future European Para Championships have the opportunity to experience the same feeling during the European Para Youth Games."

The previous edition of the European Para Youth Games took place in Pajulahti in Finland in 2022, and representatives from the Organising Committee are set to attend to give a presentation on their approach, structure, key challenges and successes.

The previous edition of the European Para Youth Games in Pajulahti featured 29 nations, 415 athletes and more than 300 team staff participating across eight sports over seven days.

The EPC is currently looking for a host for the next edition of the Para Youth Games, scheduled for 2025, and going forward the EPC hopes to be able to hold the Para Youth Games every four years.

Delegations interested in participating in the observer programme should send their details by email before August 1 to either [email protected] or [email protected].
