Grossman, last year's overall women's boulder winner on the circuit, earned a second victory from five events this year and ninth in her career, in the discipline at the Vertikale Climbing Stadium.

She dominated the final and was the only athlete to top all four boulders, although admitted she faced some issues tackling the third.

"I’m pretty excited right now," Grossman said.

"This one was a little challenging.

"The third boulder gave me a run for my money.

"I kind of started rapid firing which is something I’ve been trying not to do but I think just knowing I only had a few attempts left, sometimes it just takes me a while to learn a move.

"It’s just repetition."

Lead world champion Seo Chae-hyun of South Korea earned her first boulder medal on the Climbing World Cup, finishing second with three tops and four zones.

Serbia's Staša Gejo in third recorded the same score but in more attempts, as did Israel's Ayala Kerem who just missed out on a medal in fourth.

Australia’s Oceania Mackenzie set a national record for women's boulder by finishing fifth with two tops and three zones, and Austria's Johanna Färber completed the final line-up in sixth with one top and two zones.

In the men's boulder competition, 18-year-old Roberts was the star of the show as he top-scored in the semi-final and final.

He notched three tops and four zones to take gold.

Lee Do-hyun of South Korea earned a first World Cup medal with a gold at the last stop in Czech Republic's capital Prague, and followed it with a silver in Brixen courtesy of two tops and four zones.

Japan's Yoshiyuki Ogata - the back-to-back overall men's boulder World Cup winner - recorded the same score but in more attempts to take bronze for his first medal of the season.

Meichi Narasaki of Japan ranked fourth with the same score, and his compatriots Sorato Anraku and Tomoa Narasaki completed the list of finalists with two tops and two zones and one top and two zones respectively.

Olympic champion Alberto Ginés López of Spain placed ninth after failing to progress through the semi-final with his score of one top and four zones.

Grossman is top of the the women's boulder Climbing World Cup rankings on 2,722.5 points to the 2,649.5 of France's Oriane Bertone, who did not compete in Brixen.

The men's standings are led by Tomoa Narasaki on 3,000, followed by Lee on 2,885.33.

Innsbruck in Austria is due to stage the next leg of the IFSC Climbing World Cup in the boulder and lead disciplines from Wednesday (June 14) until Sunday (June 18).

It is set to mark the last boulder World Cup event of the season.
