French National Olympic and Sports Committee (CNOSF) President Brigitte Henriques has revealed she has asked the International Olympic Committee (IOC) to conduct an internal audit of the organisation following the long-running dispute with former secretary general Didier Séminet.

Henriques returned to work in December following nearly two months of sick leave, after making an allegation of "psychological violence" against Séminet.

Séminet denies the allegations and has filed a complaint for "slanderous denunciation" and "breach of trust" against Henriques.

The prosecutors office in Paris has now also decided to open investigations into the cross-allegations made by both parties, with the crisis coming just over a year before the French capital hosts the 2024 Olympic Games.

"I have decided to refer the matter to the IOC so that it can carry out an internal audit and put an end to all this," Henriques told AFP.

Henriques met French IOC members David Lappartient and Jean-Christophe Rolland to discuss the situation.

"They need to know that the CNOSF is running smoothly, that there is serenity," she said.

She added to a media conference that there was an "insistent campaign of destabilisation" which had begun when she succeeded Denis Masseglia as CNOSF President in June 2021.

"The elected officials who have accompanied me and who have been at my sides also meant being fed up with everything that we could hear," Henriques added.

She intends to set up a working group on ethics and professional conduct which is expected to consist of five or six members.

Her lawyer Arash Derambarsh told the media conference that Henriques and the CNOSF had both been subject to "destabilisation, false information and lies" and that her life had been subject to "degradation".

The CNOSF celebrated its 50th anniversary of its re-constitution last week but Masseglia and IOC member Guy Drut did not attend.
