The first-ever continental Women in Sport Forum will be hosted by Panam Sports in Panama, as leaders will collaborate to strengthen representation of women in the field.

Sports leaders from 41 countries that are a part of Panam Sports will aim to increase equality, especially in the representation at National Olympic Committees (NOC) and sport federations.

Members of the Pannam Sports Women in Sport Commission are Chile's Patricia Lopez, Fenella Wenham of Dominica, Venezuela's Elida Parraga, Annette Knott of Trinidad and Tobago, Panama's Monica Franco, Jane Noel of Grenada, Guatemala's Lorena Toriello ,Guyana's K.A. Juman-Yassin and Adriana Escobar of Spain and President Alicia Moreno of Argentina.

Prominent figures such as President of International Olympic Committee Thomas Bach and Panam Sports chief Neven Ilic will begin the Forum with video messages.

Ivar Sisniega, the Panam Sports secretary general who will be giving the official in-person welcome to the Forum alongside Panama Olympic Committee President Damaris Young, expressed his excitement over the new organisation.

"We are very excited and proud to organize (sic) this first Women in Sport Forum to continue our mission to strengthen the voice and representation of women in sports organizations throughout the continent," said Ivar Sisniega.

"Working towards greater equality is a constant goal and we hope to see that emphasis at every sports organization in the Americas.

"I’d like to thank the Olympic Committee of Panama and all of the members of our Women in Sport Commission for their hard work to ensure this event is successful."

"Joining the Path for Change" will be the theme for the Forum that will run for two days on May 7 and 8 at the Sheraton Grand Panama hotel.

The Commission will be having a meeting a day prior to the event, which will be live-streamed with no charge on the Panam Sports channel.
