Dutch skater Schulting claimed her fourth victory of the season at the Joynext Arena in the women's 1,000 metres distance, clocking 1min 30.391sec in the final to hold off Belgium's Hanne Desmet with her time of 1:30.443.

China's Zhang Chutong was third in 1:30.569.

Schulting took a nasty fall in her quarter-final, but recovered sufficiently to move one step closer to the Crystal Globe with 812 points for the season overall to the 592 from Canada's Courtney Sarault.

Choi of South Korea has had a quiet year after prioritising her recovery from the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics, but the women's 1500m Olympic champion earned her first win of the season in 2:26.536, staving off a challenge from the United States' Kristen Santos-Griswold by 0.34.

Sarault placed third in 2:26:591.

The men's events in the German city was won by South Korean pair Park Ji-won and Lee June-seo.

Park won his third 1,000m race of the season in 1:23.231, beating Latvia's Roberts Kruzbergs who notched 1:23.330.

Félix Roussel of Canada took third in 1:25.016.

Park is the favourite to win the Crystal Globe, extending his overall lead to 182 points over compatriot Hong Kyung-hwan after moving onto 768.

The men's 1500m race was won by Lee, who notched 2:28.291.

Pietro Sighel of Italy placed second in 2:28.401, with South Korean Lim Yong-jin third in 2:28.773.

The mixed relay was also held in Dresden today, with Italy claiming victory in 2:39.38.

South Korea were second in 2:39.514, followed by The Netherlands in third in 2:39.590.

The penultimate ISU Short Track Speed Skating World Cup of the season is due to conclude tomorrow with men's and women's 500m, 1500m and 5,000m relay races.
