Mongolian world Para taekwondo champion Bolor-Erdene Ganbat has spoken about his career so far in an extended interview with Mongolian television.

Ganbat, one of the most successful fighters in Para taekwondo history, was recently recognised by Mongolia’s Government for his achievements, when he received the Merited Master of Sport Award.

Ganbat has a perfect 20-0 record at the World Para Taekwondo Championships, winning golds at the 2014 edition in Moscow, 2017 versions in Samsun and London and the 2019 edition in Antalya in the under-61 kilograms category.

Ganbat also competed at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympics in the same category, but was beaten in the quarter-finals.

He took up the sport in 2008 after watching martial arts films starring Jackie Chan and Jet Li.

During the interview Ganbat spoke about some of the techniques that he uses to achieve his goals.

"Since 2014, I’ve written down and drawn my goals on paper," Ganbat said.

"Writing down my goals and objectives in a notebook helps code them into my brain."

Ganbat, who first joined the Taekwondo Club of Sukhbaatar Province in 2008 was speaking to Mongolian television channel livetv.mn.
